The easiest and most convenient way to make a gift to Mountain Family is to click on Donate and to make a gift using your credit card. It is fast and secure. It also allows you to give monthly, quarterly, or annually saving time and the expense of writing and mailing checks throughout the year.
Gifts by Mail
If you prefer to write a check, please make it payable to “Mountain Family Health Centers” and send it to:

Gifts of Appreciated Stock or Securities
When you contribute stock or other appreciated securities to Mountain Family (stock that you have owned for more than one year), you are entitled to a tax deduction for the full market value of the securities and do not have to pay capital gains tax. This type of gift is particularly attractive if the securities are not yielding much annual income and would be subject to capital gains tax if sold directly in the market.
To make a gift of stock, please contact Jan Jennings, Director of Development, at email@example.com or at (617) 595-8500.
IRA Charitable Rollover Gift
If you are over 70 ½, an easy and convenient way to help Mountain Family is to make a tax-free rollover from your Individual Retirement Account (“IRA”). Gifts of up to $100,000 will be excluded from your gross income and will count towards your required minimum distribution (RMD). This gift is also called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (“QCD”).
You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
Since the gift does not count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
Your gift must go directly from your IRA to Mountain Family. Please contact Jan Jennings, Director of Development, for more information, at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (617) 595-8500.
