Mountain Family Health Centers Expands Affordable Healthcare to Eagle County Schools

Mountain Family Health Centers (MFHC) and Eagle County Schools (RE-50) are pleased to announce the expansion of affordable healthcare services to the Avon Elementary School.

Services began on July 11, 2016 at Avon Elementary School at 805 West Beaver Creek Boulevard in Avon. Mountain Family Health Centers will provide the following services throughout the summer and school year:

  • Well Child Checks (0 – 18 years of age)
  • Immunizations, including flu
  • Acute visits including cold, cough, earaches, stomach, etc.
  • Allergies/Asthma
  • Reproductive Wellness
  • Behavioral Health
  • Dental Services (0-21 years of age)

MFHC provides comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services to more than 15,000 Coloradans annually in Eagle, Garfield, Pitkin, and Rio Blanco Counties. The Avon School Based Health Center will be MFHC’s fifth healthcare delivery location in Western Colorado and first school-based healthcare delivery site. Current MFHC sites are in Edwards, Basalt, Glenwood Springs, and Rifle.

Eagle County Schools serve pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students from Vail to Dotsero, including McCoy and Bond. Eagle County Schools are an innovative district comprised of 830 professionals engaging nearly 6,800 students. Of Eagle County students, 33% are English Language Learners and 42% participate in the Free or Reduced Lunch program, which helps lower-income families with access to nutritional meals.
