Congratulations to Medical Assistant Consuelo Gaytan for winning this month’s Mariposa Award! Consuelo was nominated by Dr. Matt Percy, Karen Torres, Corrinne Johnson, Hilda Rangel-Valle, and Siouxanne Mease. Way to go, Consuelo!

“I would like to nominate Consuelo for the Mariposa Award this month. She is one of the hardest workers I know and is constantly working to improve. She consistently embodies Mountain Family’s mission and goes above and beyond for patients in need. Last week she spent over an hour in clinic trying to help a patient who was homeless, [and] with no phone, to get some specialist referrals and radiology studies set up… It is an honor to work with her and I appreciate all she does for Mountain Family, our staff and our patients.” – Matt Percy

“I would like to nominate Consuelo Gaytan… for the Mariposa Award. Since day one, Consuelo has shown hard work and true compassion both for her teammates and for patients. Consuelo comes in everyday with the attitude of making Mountain Family a better place and adhering strongly to our mission. Consuelo is always willing to step in and help anyone. She is involved and speaks up when needed and has been working to improving our workflow. Everyday I am grateful to have her on the team and know she is someone I can always count on to do the right thing.” – Karen Torres

“I feel Consuelo Gaytan is a great candidate. She comes to work every day positive and with a smile on her face. She has one of the strongest work ethics that I have ever encountered. She is meticulous and thoughtful, and I know if I ask her to do something it will get done quickly and correctly. I wish we could clone her.” – Hilda Rangel-Valle

“I would like to nominate Consuelo Gaytan… From day one Consuelo has been one of the most dedicated eager teammates I’ve worked with. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence are outstanding and she motivates me to not get complacent and to do better for our patients and our organization as a whole! Consuelo is an inspiring young individual, who I can relate to in many ways but especially as an immigrant to this country, she has not let anyone or anything stand in the way of achieving both her personal and academic goals. Consuelo is an excellent example of many “Dreamers” in this country, not just to her colleagues but for anyone whose circumstances are uncertain, to not let fear of mankind, government or political status discourage you from achieving your goals and dreams. It has been an honor to work with such a strong, smart, determined young woman and future leader!” – Corrinne Johnson

“…Consuelo is great at adapting to change and accepting what cannot change. She is an extremely hard worker and stays busy even when we have down time. She is conscientious and flexible. She not only brings up challenges and struggles in the workflow, but she also brings credible and realistic suggested solutions, rather than just complaining. She is by definition a “dreamer” and thankfully has worked hard and achieved another 2 years work permit. Her work ethic is extraordinary and I am thankful to have her on my team.” – Siouxanne Mease
